The Scottish Journey.

VICTORY OF STEWART

The 1900 tournament terminated in favour of R. Stewart, Kelty, one of the finest cross-board players in the world. His victory was very popular, and thoroughly well-deserved. Although he managed to oust H. Freedman after a severe tussle, we do not believe there is much difference between these draughts masters. James Ferric did not disgrace his fine reputation, and W. K. Campbell pleased his friends by his skilful play. The veteran Willie Bryden astonished a good many of his acquaintances by the fine form he displayed. G. M. Bonar gave a very good account of himself. It ruuy be woith stating that Stewart played 39 games during %©, Journey, of which jie won 7,

lost 2, and drew 30. Mr Bryson presented tli9 prizes to the winners, as follows: — Ist prize, £20, R. Stewart; 2nd prize, £10, W. Bryden; 3rd prize, £&, W. 'K. Campbell ; and 4th prize, £I,G. M. Bonar. Mr Bryson secured the copyright of the games, which will be published without delay.
