ALHAMBR THEATRE

There was a large attendance at the Alhambra Theatre on Saturday night, when another entertainment was given by Fuller's Waxworks Company. The performance, although of a somewhat similar character to those which have been held at the same place for some time past, served to thoroughly hit the taste of the audience, who accorded all the members of the company a reception most flattering in its cordiality. Many of the items in the programme were warmly encored, while every one of them was well received. The great feature of the performance was undoubtedly " The Lunatics," a comical musical sketch, in which Messrs Fred and Will Leslie appeared. These two clever artists introduced a number of new musical installments, some of remarkable construction, and the audience were simply delighted with their performance, which was of a very mirthprovoking character. The Leslie Brothers are rot only talented musicians, but they are also good acrobats, and highly amusing comedians,' and in ''The Lunatics" they brought all their talents into play with the most satisfactory results. Mr George .Williamson also made a hit with a rather vulgar parody .on Kipling's " Absent-minded Beggar," showers of coins being thrown on the stage during the singing of the parody, which referred to an absent-minded lodger. On the 14th met. Puller's Waxworks, under the management of Mr Ben Puller, celebrate their first anniversary; and, to publicly mark the occasion, the whole taking at that night's performance will be given to the fourth contingent fund.
