THE DIRECT STEAMERS.

The Delphic (from WellingLon, January 10) arrived at London on Sunday afternoon with her cargo of meat in good condition. 1 The Waikato arrived at Gravesend from New Zealand on the 25th inst. The Waimate has arrived at Auckland from London, via Capetown and Hobart. She left London on January 10. She has 1700 tons merchandise for Auckland. WELINGTON, March I.— -Sailed: Maria de Larringa, for London, via Monte Video and Teneriffe. WELLINGTON, March s.— Arrived : Perthshire, from Brisbane. LONDON, February 27.— Arrived : Rakaia and Waikato, from Wellington; Matatua, from Port Chalmers.

The s.s. Westralia steamed down to Port Chalmers on the 27th, and left in the afternoon for Sydney, via Auckland. The Government steamer Tutanekai, with 5000 sleepers from Hokianga, arrived on the 28th ult., and was berthed at the JeSty street wharf. She left Hokianga .on the 23rd. Tfle U.S.S. Company's splendid steamship Waikare. Captain H. J. Richardson, from Melbourne, via Hobart and the Bluff, with 42 pa-sengers and 725 tons of cargo arrived on ihe 28th ult.

The ship Auckland, which left Dunedin on the 28th for Wellington, took 733 bales of wool for London, with 4 bales for transhipment at Wellington. She had also some 500 tons of original cargo from Glasgow for that port. The s.s. Waikare left for Sydney,- via Wellington, on Thursday afternoon.

Departures — Napier, s.s., 48 tons; Enterprise, brigantine, 84; lnvercargill, s.s. ,> 123; Westralia, s.s., 1819; Auckland, ship, 1246 ;Awarua, tug, 56 ; Tutanekai, s.s., 412 ; Waikare, s.s. 1901; Flora, s.s., 838; Kini, s.s., 702; Sir Henry, schooner, 95; — total, 7124 tons. The U.S.'S. Company's steamer Talune, Captain C. Spinks, from Sydney, via Cook Strait, with 81 passengers and 133 tons of '.general cargo, arrived at the tongiie wharf on 'Saturday evening. She left the company's wharf at Sydney at 8 p.m. of the 24th ult. The s.s. Waihora, from' Sydney, via the East Coast ports, arrived at the George street pier, Port Chalmers, at 11 a.m. on Sunday, and Bteamed up to Dunedin on the afternoon's tide.

The s.s. Talune went down to Port Chalmers early on Monday morning, and left in the afternoon for Melbourne, via the Bluff and Hobart.

The s.s. Rimu, which has been laid up for. some time, went clown to Port Chalmers on Monday to go into dock for cleaning and painting, after which she goes to Auckland, where she will be employed in the timber trade between Kaipara and that port. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company's s.s. Rangatira, from London, arrived in the lower harbour at 8 a.m. on Monday, and was brought to an anchor in Koputai Bay, to tranship some 1085 packages of combustibles to the powder cutter. This being effected she was berthed at the ocean steamers' pier at 2.30 p.m. The Rangatira, which is consigned to Messrs Murray, Roberts, and Co. , of this city, brings some 4000 tons of general cargo for this port apd Lyttelton, the greater part being for Dunedin. She is still under the command of Captain Nicoll, and comes into port in excellent order. ' < *
