AUCKLAND SALE,

AUCKLAND, February 20. The third sale of wool tor the season was ■ held to-day. There Avas a full attendance of buyers. Prices showed a decline upon the rates realised at. the former sales this season, the London market having receded in the in- . terim. Others present at the sale accepted the situation, and decided to take the prices offered. On the average, the wool offered was not of such 1 good quality as on former occasions, a not unusual feature of late sales in the season. On the average there appeared to be a decline . of from f d to Id per lb in the value of wool ' generally. Crossbred sold from 5d to 7id ; Inmbs' wool, 4Jd to 6£d ; halfbred, 6>kl to B£d. Bidding was spirited for really good lines. Mr Buckland sold 250 bales, and the Loan and Mercantile Company 844 bales.
