DAMAGE BY DREDGING. INVER CARIILL. February 12.
In the Supreme Court to-day M. Hanlpy sued the Gold Creek Gold Mining Company for £150 for pollution of water and damaues to his land by the deposit of =ilt from defendants' operations. £2 was paid into court. His Hoxior, in giving judgment, said the plaintiff was entitled to more than that, as the balance of evidence was that the creek since defendants' operations commenced had silted up. and it was reasonable to conclude that pait of that was due to dredging. Plaintiff's claim was however, exaggerated, and judgment would be for £25, costv on the lcv^st =;crile Plaintiff was also granted an injunction to restrain defendants from continuing the cause of the damage.
