trary laws of other countries. He enclosed liis'subscription of one guinea. The list was then handed round the room, and canvassers were appointed for different parts of the district. There is the hope of bringing up the amount to £40. I think this will be very good considering there has been a list round the district before for the patriotic fund, and it was responded to very liberally.
