AUCKLAND, September 29.
The report and balance sheet of tha South British Insurance Company for the year ended 31st August shows a profit of £28,418 6s Bd, which, added to the balance brought forward from la&t year, leaves £33,249 18s 8d at credit to profit and loss. Out of this sin interim dividend paid in April absorbs £4847 2s, sinking fund £75, written off office furniture £368 0s 3d, depreciation of sundry securities £414 17s lid ;— total, £4705 0s 2d. A dividend at ■the rate of 2s per share for the second* half-year, making 3s 6d per share for the year, is now recommended, after the payment of which" there will be carried forward £21,082 2s 6d. '
