GOLF.
' (Fbom Our Own CoRRESPONDEirr.) WELLINGTON, July 23. The final round of the Wellington Golf Club's Championship was played on Saturday, and resulted in a victory for George Todd, who wa* formerly a well-known Dunedin player. The principal scores for the three rounds were:— George Todd ..94 95 94—283 Arthur Duncan ..97 97 91 285 W. Pryde .. ..98 96 99—293 It was generally anticipated that ihe championship would be won by Mr Duncan, but ha has gone off in his play lately, and Mr Todd_'3 consistent form pulled him through in the end. He played excellent golf. But for the fact that the links are in very heavy condition, owing to the long spells of wet weather, the scores would probably have been much better. The Championship meeting to be played here next month ! is already being much talked about, and if Gillies, Duncan, Todd, and the Prydes (champion and ex-champion) can all attend the contest for the New Zealand Championship shoulc be a very keen one.
