DUNEDIN JOCKEY CLUB.

A meeting of the committee of the D.J.C., held last Thursday was attended by Messrs S. Solomon (in tho chair), Carr, Taggart, Ponsonby, Myers, Grindley, Coughlan, Hazlett, and Dawson.

The following officers were appointed for the year: — Handicapper, Mr Geo. Dowse; secretary, Mr Sydney James ; assistant secretary, Mi- H. L. James ; starter, Mr H. Piper ; treasurer, Mr A. E. Stanley Carr ; judge, Mr P. Miller ; clerk of course, Mr E. H. Hart ; clerk of scales, Mr John M 'Donald ; timekeeper, Mr E. " Hogg ; surgeon, Dr Closs ; veterinary surgeons, Messrs Hamilton and Snowball'; stewards, tho committee. Sub-committees were appointed as follows : — Finance Committee — Messx-s Hazlett, Mills, Carr, and Ponsonby ; Programme Committee — Messrs Myers, Miller, Carr, and Grindley; Works Committee — Messrs Miller, Hazlett, Grindley, and Taggart ; Band and Lunch Committee — Messrs Coughlan, Dawson, Myers, and Thomson.

It was resolved to hold the Spring meeting in the first week in October, the Summer meeting during show week, the Autumn meeting in March, and the Winter meeting in May. The Programme Committee were instructed .to prepare programmes and fix details.

Mr W^ B. .'Vigors was unanimously appointed a. steward in place of Mr Solomon, who is now vice-president.

A votaof thanks was passed to Mr A. W. Bremner for his past services as clerk of scales.
