LAND BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Land Board was held in the Lands Office, Government Buildings, on Wednesday, when there were present Mr J. P. Maitland (Chief Commissioner), and Messrs Clark, Dallas, Duncan, and Kirkpatrick.

Fourteen days was allowed Mrs Jessie Hutcliings, from date of sale, for the removal of improvements from block XLIV, town of Hampden.

A yearly license was granted Mr John Blakely to occupy the tailings reserve adjoining his sections 184 and 185, town of Koniaka, at a rental of ss, with license fee £1 Is.

Ranger Hughan reported on the following sections, town of Dunkeld, and it was resolved that they be classified as suburban land at the prices set opposite them, subject to the Governor's approval. — Warden to report as to any objection from a mining point of view ; sections 9 to 13, block 11, £3 per acre upset; sections 2 to 6, block VIII, £2 per acre upset; sections 3 and 4, block XXIII, JE3 per acre upset; sections 1 to 4, and 6 to 8, block XXIV, £3 per acre upset ; sections 4to 7, block XXXV, £2 per acre upset; and sections 1 to 8, block XL, £2 per acre upset.

It was agreed to allow Mi William Hambly to acquire a lease in perpetuity of section 55, block I, Rock and Pillar district at a- capital value of ISs 9d per acre.

A yearly license was granted Mr Thoma& Rae, at a rental of 22s 6d, with licence fee £1 Is, to occupy about 90 acres on the south boundary of the Ettrick Domain, at present fenced in with the domain.

Mr James Prentice's application foi a license over 100 ft (square) on the Foreshore Reverse, opposite section 2 of 10, block 111, Moeraki district, was referred to Ranger Atkinson for report. Mr David Brodie wrote abandoning his yearly license to occupy the mining reserve between sections 40 and 41, block VIII, Shotover district. — License declared lapsed.

Mr William Fraser wrote abandoning his yearly license to occupy about two acres lying between his small grazing run 220 i and the Manuherikia River. — License declared lapsed.

An application for rural land, on lease in perpetuity, made by Elizabeth Sharpe in reference to section 42, block VI, Glenomaru district, was approved.

The application to capitalise deferred payment instalments made by Mr W. Ashton in connection with section 17, block VIII, Catlins district, was authorised. The following rights to occupation leases were declared forfeited for non-execution of same: Robert Pringle, section 64, block IX, Maerewhenua district, and Francis Pringle, section 63, block IX, same district. The forfeiture of small grazing run 244e, Tiger Hill district, was rescinded, the rent having been paid, and its transfer from Robert Love to David Isbister approved. The application by Thomas Young to-com-plete purchase of deferred payment section 6, block X, Kurow district, was approved. Surrender of the following holdings was accepted, and the sections recommended for notification at the capital values, with valuations as under: Section 66, block I, Catlins district, Wm.
