The Egmont Farmers' Union (Limited). — Hawera, July 21, 1899.—At Stratford on the 14th a fair yarding of cattle came forward, most of which changed hands at the hammer. Fat bullocks, £5 2s '6d; dairy cows, £3 10s to £5 10s; store cows, £1 10s to £2 10s; 15 to 20 month steers, £1 3s to £1 18s; two-year-old heifers, £2 to £2 7s 6d. Sheep.—Ewes in lamb, 10s. At the Glover road yards on the 20th inst^ we had a good yarding of both cattle and 1 sheep. The attendance was large, and bidding fairly brisk for most of the stock. Although several lines were passed at the" hammer, most, of these changed hands before * leaving the yards. Fat bullocks, £5 to £5 10s; fat cows,. £3 to £3-15s; two to three-year-old steers, £3 6s 6d to £3 17s 6d; 18-month to 2-year-old - steers, £2 2s- to £2 17s Gd; forward cows, £2. 5s to £2 16s; dairy cows and heifers, £S to £4; 18-month heifers, £1 8s to £h lls; weaners, 10s 6d to £1 0s 6d. Sheep.—Store wethers, 9a 6d to 10a 8d; fat ewes, 9s 3d "to 10s 9d; g.ior* ' ewes, 6s 6d to 9s; hoggets, 6s 3d Id 7s.
