ALPHA. — Far from wearying me, your letter was a source of much pleasure and interest, and I shall always be glad when you have time to spare for a chat on paper. 1 fear you would bo disappointed in Merriraon's last, " Roden's Cornor." It is cynical and pessimistic in tone, and. the conversations and reflections are so artificial. I waa much, disappointed in it. Everyone here is in raptures over " Concerning Isabel Carnaby," by Elizabeth Fowler. . I find " With Kitchener to Khartoum " very fascinating reading. It is so vivid and so real.' ' ~ ' ' I EDITH. — I fear the song you mention is not » obtainnble. Even in 3oosey'» old albums of j Moore's melodies 'it is not included. [ INCONNU.— Your letter gave me 'sincere pleasure, I assure you. Efven though T feel your wafrn praise perhaps more than I deserve, none the less it is cheering and sweet. The many cordial appreciations of the letters which appeared in our last " Over the Teacur*"' I intend to publish at our next meeting (May 4), and shall not forget yours among them. AUNTlE.— Thanks for your kind letter, from which I shall, with your permission, quota an extract or two on another occasion. You will find this recipe efficacious : " Some 10 per cent, oleate of mercury ointment, rubbed in every night till a cure is effected." Then • use borax dissolved in rose water — any che- ? mist will tell you the right pioportion — as a lotion to rub into the rocts of the hair twice weekly. Dandruff is now considered infectious, you know, so you should not allow the other children to use her brush and comb or pop on her hats, as they are so apt to do. Ig-n chance. — A stamp placed on the left-hand « top corner of the envelope is supposed to ! indicato "I love you.'"
