FATAL MINING ACCIDENT.

Constable Fretwell, of Orepuki, telegraphs that John Pattison and Alexander Beattson were killed this afternoon by a fall of earth from the face of Treseder's sluicing claim, beyond the river Waiau. Pattison is believed to be son *of a wellknown .Riverton hotelkeeper, recently deceased.
