CONCILLIATION BOARD.
THE COAL MINING DISPUTE. The dispute between the Otago Coal Miners' Union and the Kaitangata Railway and Coal Company was brought ur> at the Conciliation Beard meeting on Saturda3 r . The Chairman, having remarked that it had been arranged that the board should adjourn to some date to suit the parties, asked Mr Allan Holmes, who was present, if he appeared for the Kaitangata Company. Mr Holmes said the-" Kaitangata Company did not apoear, and, as a matter of courtesy, he was willing to explain the reasons. The company did not take any part in the proceedings. The Chairman : The company does not propose to take any part? Mr Holmes : No : the company had sold out, and was being wound up. If there were any otjier parlies who were supposed to be affected, they were not in the colony. The matter was adjourned for a fortnight.
