ATTEMPT TO REMOTER SALVAGE.

WELLINGTON, September 3. Another .effort is to be tnoue to obtain salvage from the wreck of the sfcesmsr Tasmania. The purchasers of the sunken vessel Rothschild, of Wellington, and Mr Moss, of Dunedin) have associated themselves with about half a dozen Auckland residents, who have chartered a small schooner in that port to go to the wreck and assist in the attempt to recover the jewellery (valued at about £1500) which Mr Rofchsc'hild left in his cabin when the vessel was sinking, and at the same time steps will be taken to get at the mails. Mr Pascoe, a diver belonging to Wellington, has been engaged, and will leave for Auckland by the Rotoiti to-morrow in order to join the schooner. If the diver's report is satisfactory, a large company will be formed to recover the cargo, and probably to try and raise the steamer.
