ALBION CLUB.
The thirty-fifth annual general meeting of the Albion Cricket Club was held in Mr J. CummiEgs's Caledonia Hotel. There were about 30 members present. Mr Joel occupied the chair, and apologised for Mr James Allen, M.H.R., Messrs M. Cohen", and A. Wright. The Chairman moved, and Mr J. Clarke seconded, the adoption of the report and balanco sheet, which showed the club to be in a, good financial positon. The following office-bearers were elected: — President, Mr James Allen, M.H.R. (reelected) ; vice-presidents — Messrs Cohen, Wright, Maitland, Shelton, Beadle, B. Ringer, and Dr Closs ; hon. secretary and treasurer, AY. Gibson (re-elected) ; captain, to be elected by First Eleven ; deputy-captain, Mr J. Black; practice captains, Messrs A. Robertson and D. H. Thomson ; General Committee — Messrs Joel, AVilliams, White, Robertson, and Thomson ; Match Committee — Messrs J. Black and A. Spence; auditors, Messrs J. Duncan and A. Marryatt ; delegates to the Otago Cricket Association, Messrs Ritchie and White. Trophies were presented to the winners as follows: — Best batting average in First Eleven, Mr G. Uttley ; do in Second Eleven, Mr J. Murdoch; do in Third Eleven, Mr A. Lawry ; best bowling, Air J. Murdoch.; best average in AVednesday malchcs, Mr A. AVhite. At the conclusion of the business a presentation of an oak salver, suitably inscribed, was made to Mr B. T. Ringer on the occasion of his approaching marriage. The Chairman, in making the prejentation, mentioned the many valuable services Mr Ringer had rendered to the club. As showing how these set vices had been appreciated, he stated that every member who had been asked had been pleased to subscribe to the present which had been given. Mr Ringer suitably replied, stating that he was taken by surprise at tho present which had been made, and heartily thanked tho members of the club for their kind wishes and present.
