HENDLEY CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Hendley Cricket Club, held on the 30th ult. in the Prince of Wales Hotel, was attended by about 20 members, Mr Proctor presiding. The retiring committee reported having arranged for the lease of a wicket on the Oval and for the use of half tho pavilion on terms which they regarded as Aery reasonable. They hoped that the members would do their utmost to make the season more successful than the last one, when the First Eleven played 14 matches, winning 3 and lo&ing 11 ; while the Second Eleven had a much better record, winning 9 and losing 5 of the 14 matches played. W. Restieaux and J. Moore (bowling), and A. Smith, F. Rowlatt, and J. Moore (batting) did good service for the First Eleven ; and R. Thompson and G. Hamann (bowling), and R. Abbott. Thompson, and Hamann (batting) for the Second Eleven. The receipts amounted to £12 18s 2d, and the expenditure £14 7s, leaving a deficiency of £1 8s lOd, which the committee hoped to see wiped out before the next annual meeting. The election of officebearers resulted as follows : — President, Mr D. M'Leod ; vice-presidents — Messrs A. Whitehorn, R. C. Proctor, H. Golclsmid, J. Muir, and A. Shaw; lion, secretary, Mr P. Proctor ; assistant - secretary, Mr A. Smith : General Committee — Messrs, E. Rowlatt, W. M'Leod, W. Restieaux, A. Smith, and P. Proctor; Temporary Match Committee— Messrs E. Rowlatt, Smith, and Restieaux; delegate to the Otago Cricket Association, Mr J. Walsh.
