London", July 27. I Sir P.iniol Cooper. Agent-Gftiicial for New Soutli Wales, has comencd a meeting of the Agents-General to consider Mr Geddes's scheme, for the belter distribution of colonial food products by means of a company with a capital of half a million. I Half ihe capital will be offered to tlie public, j It is proposed to establish a central depot in London with o, storage capacity of 2000 tonb of meat, or the equivalent of other products, with 60 provincial depots ; also to utilise existing storage distributing arrangements in the provinces and at Port Said. Mr Geclfles suggests that the Governments should contribute, part of the capital or guarantee intere&l for a term ; the AgentsGeneral to be a .supervisory boord, with power to regulate the maximum charges, the several Governments guaranteeing tho quality and regularity of the shipments. The discussion was adjourned for a Aveelc, July 28. Under Mr Gedcle&'s produce distribution scheme it is proposed to lf-sue halt the capital to the public. Sybxey, July ?9. The Herald generally commends Mr Geddes's produce distribution scheme, but says the business will be better undertaken by private control, instead of appealing to tlie Australian Governments for assistance.
