"Fathers and Brethren,— 5 Fay I be allowed to add as a small personal item that it affor.b mo peculiar pleasure to draw up, as the representative of the Free Church, this address <>f congratulation to the church of my dear old friend, Dr Stuart, of Dunedin. It is, you will I am sure agree with me, an interesting coincidence that Dr Stuart was born and spont his boyhood within four miles of my native place," and that his brother was educated in the same school with me. This association has always given to the Synod o[ Otago a warm place in my heart; and I wish to send on this occasion, if I may, my own humble personal greetings with those of my church. — Your sincere friend and fellow servant in Christ Jesus,
