THE CANTERBURY TEAM'S TOUR. A WIN AT NELSON.
The Nelson match, played on Monday, was attended by large numbers. The weather was fine, but the ground was greasy. Owing to mishaps the Nelson team as selected could not take the field, and was weakened. Tho game was a very rough one all through, four of the Canterbury men and ono Kelson man being hurt. The play was chiefly confined to the forwards, and Canlerbuiy won by 9 points to 3. Or and Robilhard pcored tries in the first spell, and Bonar obtained a trj. for Nelson. Orr also scored a try in the second spell. Tho place kicking was poor. Robilliard and Cowper wore both knocked out during the game. Fanning, the captain of It a Canterbury team, had his nose broken, and Byrne had the sinews of his shoulder badly strained. Nisbett, of Nelson, was stunned. Some very bad feeling was shown, and the spectators were very partial.
There ia much dissatisfaction at the head of Lake Wakatipu at some new bush regulations brought into operation, which it is alleged press unduly on the bushmen.
