WAIKOUAITI LICENSING COMMITTEE.

The annual meetiug of the W&ikoaait) Licensing Committee was held in the court* house, Poet Chalmers, on Thursday afternoon' present — Messrs B. H. Carew, S.M. (chairman), J. Cable, W. J. Harrison, J. Porteous, and Key. W. S. Lucas.

New Application. — Peter Nelson made application for a license for the house known as Copney's Hotel, Portobello. There being no objectiou a 10 o'clock license was g[ anted.

Transfer. — A transfer from John Collins to Patrick M'Kay for the George Hotel wan granted.

.Renewals. — Eleven o'clock licensed were granted to William J. Water?, Port Chalmers Hotel ; KUen Chick, Chick's Hotel; R&bert Sharp, Marine Hotel; David Leech, Provincial IJotel; Patrick M'Kay, Gsorge Hotel. Ten o'clock licenses W6ie granted to Benjamin D. Lightbourne, Crescent Hotel, Mwasfordtcwn ; Patrick Toomey, Golden Fleece Hotel, Waikoualti: Michael Kanf, Railway Station- Hotel, Wai. kouaiti ; and to John A. Ain^e, Seaeliff Hotel. Wholesale License. — Wiiliam Sutton made application for a wholesale license. Mr Plaits appeared for the applicant, and tho license was granted.
