AGRICULTURAL CONFERENCES.

Brisbane, May 3<J. A conference of Ministers of Agriculture discussed- the prevention of the introduction I of plant diseases. It was resolved that; all exported fruits supposed to be infested with ; scale insects, and all plants, imported from the various colonies, be fumigated under the supervision of a Government official; also that all plants in nurseries be registered and periodically inspected.

A largo number of associations have given notice to bring up subjects for discusiion, including dipping seaaoafor sheep, small birds nuisance, noxiou* weeds* rabbit act, licensing of stallions, Queensland tick pest, importation of live cattle from Australia, mortality amongst lambs, dairy schools, grass seed inspection, abattoirs, veterinary qualifications of stock inspectors, question of a central governing body in agricultural and paa—toral matter?, and the question of earmarking.
