THE FIRE ON THE MONOWAI. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Invercargill, February 16.
The Monowai arrived at the Bluff early thin morning, 24 hours later than she was expected, owing to her having called at Milfcrd and I Thompson's Sounds yesterday, where the j weather was beautifully fine, enabling her large complement of passengers — nearly 200 in number — to have a beautiful view of the fiords and mountains. The Monowai shows no outward visible signa of the fire which was discovered in her afber hold between Melbourne and Hobart on Thursday night lasb. |
