For LlO shares the pries rose to L 79 each, and great eagerness was displayed to get into snob a good thing. The whole affair is now believed to be a swindle. Much was made of an alleged offer of LGO.OOO for the New Zealand rights, and about L3OOO was paid to the inventors, who also received three-fourths of the shares, which they partially realised.
