HOSPITAL TRUSTEES.
The ordinary meeting of the Dunedin Hospital Trustees, held on tbe 16th, was attended by Menst\< P. M.ller (chaiirmauj, J. Robin, W. Wills. H. Clark, W. Wn'ght, J. N. Browu, S. S. Myers, and James Green. The House Committee reported fchafc they had received a report irotn Messrs Mason and Wales on the etate of the back end Jrout towers and main roof. The i'inaLCfc Committee reported that salaries fr.nd accounts for ttie month of January, amounting to £459 8s 4-d, were passed for payment. Tbe receipts for January W ere :—ln-pirientp,: — In-pirientp, £39 ; ouc-patienfcg, £4 17s 6d ; studeutb' fees, £S9 8s ; voluntary contributions, £4-7 15s ; r oaationt,, £7 11s ; Benevolent Institution (medicine). £3 19s ; sale?, £6 lls ;—; — total, £139 Is 6d. The receipt? for February, up to date, were :—ln-patients,: — In-patients, £40 6^ 6d ; outpatients, £3 ; student*.' feee, £19 19s ; voluntary contributions, £7 ]&*; medicine for tbe gaol, £4 12s ;— total. £75 10<j 6d. The bank book showed a ctedit balance of £130 Hs2d — The reported was adopted Messrs M&feou and Wales recommended that repairs be iffected to tha turret recently domaged by fire, and alterations effected, at a total cost of £4-0. Repairs to the clock tower were rpcomtnended at a cost of £45, and the renewal of slates at a cost of £10. The question of the appointment of a senior and junior house surgeon was discussed. Tivo applications were received. One ap'olieant applied for both positions, and the other for the junior position. It was agreed to defer ths ; matter tor a fortnight. | Seven tenders for fche construction of the pi'oI posed "Victoria ward wrre received, and five 1 tenders for the plumbing work. These were referred to the architect to report at a special rnefetiag cf the trustees to be held next evening.
