DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS. October 2.

Messrs Wmgiit, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows :—

For Saturday's sale Mr Alexander M'Bae's team, of eight heavy young draught mares and geldings (most of them got by Bannatyne's Ban liomond, Gawn's Lord Salisbury, and Robinson's Reformer) formed the centre of attraction, buyers from Tuapska, Taieri, syad Clutba Counties being present. The horses were a post serviceable lot, all young, and in good working condition. IMrM'Kae's team was well known to lie a good one, and this gave buyers great confidence in competing, the result being most satisfactory. The team made the very handsome average of JB3O per head,' the range being from £24 to £35. A number of other draught waves and geldings changed bancU, mostly of medium class and aged, at quotations. There was good inquiry for the following classes, but there was nothing suitable in the market to-day viz. : Light active draughts for "lorry" work, strong spring-carters, and useful tram horses, consignments of all of .which kinds (as also firat-claus young heavy draughts and strong buggy horses) we can recommend. We-quote : First-class heavy young draughts &t from £30 to £35 -(extra heavy a pound or two more)? medium, £22 to £27 ; aged, £15 to £20 ; hacks and strong carriage horses. £15 to £20; goid spring-cart sorts. £11 to £15 ;, light hacks, £7 to £10 ; inferior, £2 to £5.
