THE MEAT MARKET. Napier, June 3. The Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company cabled to Messrs Nelson Bros, to-day : "Since our last report prices for fivz?n meat have been unchanged." GRAIN AND PRODUCE MARKETS. Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report that prices ruled as under at their auction sale on Monday. The attendance of buyers was large

and bidding for most of the lines on offer fairly ' keen :— Oats. — We sold under good competition best feed sparrowbills at 2s 3d to 2s 3Jd ; medium, 2s to 23 2d ; prime milling and seed lines are being quitted at 2s 4s to 2s 6i per biishel (sacks extra). Wheat. — The raavket for prime milling: samples remains firm at lr.te values. We offered fowl feed lines, which sold at 3a to 3s 8d per buhhel (sacks in) Potatoes. — Tho«e catalogued were not the class wanted by buyers, and the bulk were pissed in. We quote : Prime northern Dcrwents, £3 2s (5d to £3 7s 6d ; southern, £S to £1 2s Cd ; medium, £2 15=1 to £2 17a 6d per ton (sacks in). Chaff. — Prime oaton sheaf is vary scarce and in strong demand, bright; well-cut lots being worth £i to £4 10s. "We offered several tiuck« straw chaff, which, realised £2 per ton (bags extra). ( Turnips. — The few forward sold at ISs (Jd per ton (loose). ; Messrs Dat.gety and Co. (Limited) report having held their weekly sale, when there was a large attendance of buyers. Oats. — We offeied several lines, which sold under good competition as follows :— Good feed, 23 2Jd to 2s 3d ; medium, 23 Is to 2s 2d ; inferior. Is lid to 2s. Prime milliner s»ei is worth 2s 4d to 2s 6d. Wheat. — Fowls' feed only was offered, and realised from 3s to 3s Cd. Prioca to-day for prime milling aye : Velvet, 4s 4d to 43 Sd ; Tuscan, 4s 3d to 4s 4d. Potatoes. — Competition for potatoes was dull, and most of the lots offered were passed. We quote : Northern Derwents, £3 to £3 5s ; southerns, £2 15a to £3. Chaff. — We offered nine truck?, which readily sold at the following prices :— Prime well cut, £4 53 to £4 7s ; good, £4 to £4 2* 6d ; medium, £3 12s 6d to £3 17s 6'd ; straw, £2 to £2 7s 6d. The FARaißßs' Agency* Company (Limited) held their usual weekly sale on Monday, and offered a full catalogue :—: — Oats. — -These were in good demand, more especially heavy prime Hoes. We sold all catalogued at : For fair feed, 2s lid to 2s 2}d ; bright heavy feed, 2s 3d ; extra fine milling "(two lines), 2s 4cl and 2s 5d Wheat. — Only fowls' wheat offered, and sold at 3? fid. Bavley.— Prime malting, 3s Cd to 3s 9d ; good I feed lines, 2s 4d to 2s Cd. ; Chaff. — Market very bare and dealers lightly | stocked. Best lines brought £4 2s 6d to £4 7s ; J other lines brought £3 103 to £4. f Potatoes.— Prime Derwents, £2 163 to £3 ss.
