The young man spake, on'work-intent— Said he, " I've mended well our second " ; The father smiled, therein was blent Both joy and pride : bright fortune beckoned. Conjoin the twain. What have we now ? A lyric poem — few the lines — ' j Describing mists round mountain's brow, Or zephyrs rustling 'mougst the pines. 8543. Anagram.— By Thersites :— Deep boot co. I follow sdch a statement. [Six of our moat comfortable head-rest*.] We one and all most useful are, A fact none can deny ; In saying this we speak the truth, Though off; tried for a lie. 8544. Charade —By Colonslie :— Tis first to guess this, you will find, Unless you first do try ; While second sails with wintry wind. Or soft blue summer sky ; And should the tempeßt prove unkind, Much whole on men doth lie.
