THE SOUTH ISLAND TEAM.
Messrs W. G. Garrard (Christchurch) audD. K. Torrance (Dunedin} met on Monday night for the purpose of ohoosing the team that is to represent the South Island in the inter-island match at Wellington ou the 26th inst. The following is their selection i — Full Back— S. Orchard (Liawood Club, Canter-Thiuee-quarter Backs— A. M. Armit (Kaikorai Club, Otago), T. Wood (Kaikorai Club, Otago). G. S. Stephenson (Dunedin Club, Otago). Half Backs— J. Duncan (Kaikorai Club, Otago), E. Glennie (Linwood Club. Canterbury). Forwards —D. M'Laren (Kaikorai Club, Otago), A. Johnstone (ftlerivale Club, Canterbury), B. Fanning (Liawood Club, Canterbury), ~W. Harris (Union Club, Otago), J. Torrance (Kaikorai Club, Otago), A. Kerr (Linwood Club, Canterbury), F. J. Brookar (Merivale Ulub, Canterbury). F. Given (Albambr.i Club, Otago), P. J. Priest (Pirates Club, Otago). A number of emergency playeri were also •hosen in the event of any being required.
