Wellington, June !i. The stewards of the W.R.O. have decided to reinstate Mr G. Cooper's entry for Much Ado, the winner of First Hurdlea at the Autumn meeting, and the stakes, which had been impounded under Rule 58, were authorised to be paid to Mr Cooper. Messrs Scales and Harbroe hava been appointed delegates to represent the W.R.C. at the special meeting of the New Zealand Racing Conference to be held in Wellington on July 8 next. A. Maher, who was injured while riding Freedom in the hurdles on Queen's Birthday, has been granted £5 from the distressed jockeys' fuud by the W.R.O. Owners and trainers who are in arrears for entry and acceptance fees with the W.R.O. are notified that unless the same arrears are paid within a fortnight they will be published in the uncaid forfeit list forthwith. Velocity, being trained over sticks by Con Boyle, will have his first go at H*sting3 in the Trial Steeple. The trotters which were brought over from Sydney by the Wakatipu List week, consigned to Mr C. Thomas, of Nelson, are Torpedo (by Torpedo, imp ), a nine-year-old brown stallion who has performed on the track, and a three-year-old chestnut filly by Era. The latter is a maiden, and will likely start at the next Nelson meeting. Era, her sire, is one of the celebrated Childe Harold — Violetta Jr. family. Viking, now in Canterbury, is another. The W.R.C. has voted £25 to the fund for the propysed operating theatre in connection with the "Wellington Hospital. Sea Serpent and TJmslopogaas (T. CJarke in charge) have left for Hastings, where they will receive their preparation for their H B.J.C. engagements. Chmanie and Royal Oak are also in Clarke's stable at the Hutt. Dad Peters has the following in training at the Hutt :— Loveshot (Chainshot— Myrile), Mizpah, a three-year old by Lord llaudeville — Biddy ; Raupe 11, a bay gelding by Tim %Vhiffler — Nancy Xee ; Austral, by The Australian ; and two Blenheim-bred youngsters by Catesby — Wai and Catesby — Spring Creek. Leda (Castor — Welcome Katie mare) is being spelled. Austral, the Wellington Steeplechase winner, in view of the W.R.C. meeting next month is being kept in training. jack Taggarfc has in training, on a private track, the following trotters :— Oakwood, by

Blackwood Abdallah ; F. 8., by BUckwood Abdallah; Billy Buttons, by Prickwillow ; a yearling colt by Brooklyn— F.B. ; and another youngster by Brooklyn from an Albany mare. Mr W. Clay, owner of Roseleaf (by Master Agnes), who ran so well at Otaki and who got injured after the races, intends proceeding against the Manawatu Railway Company for alleged damages in connection therewith.
