May 17. — The whole of Murray :inu patty ~ dredge has baen shifted from the Menzionburn to their special claim at Tuapeka Flat. Its reconstruction is to be pushed on as rapidly as ponbible under the superintendence of Mr W. Jenkins, of JCHinedtn. A dredging company is being formed in Lawrence by Messrs Laffey and Woods, with the object of working a piece of pround at the junction of tho Tuapeka and Gabriels .Creeks, gi?.ntet\

A dredging company has been formed at tha Bengerburn, with a capital of .£IBOO, for the purpose of working the Benger Flat. The company have made an offer of £1200 for the Golden Rum dredge. The shares in the company are now fully subscribed, a Lawrence gentleman holding 375. There arc only 12 shareholders, all Miller's Mat residents with the exception of the Lawrence man just alluded to. The following were appointed provisional directors :— Messrs A. Grogan, Jas. Murray, J. Noonan, R. Patrick, and R. Ritchardson. Bankers, the Bank of New Zealand ; solicitor, Mr F. G-. Dalziell, Lawrence 5 secretai'3', Mr P. E. Grant. There were 61 applications for special claims and 48 licenses issued in the Lawrence Warden's Court during the last 12 months. The Consolidated Guld Company fired a tunnel on Satuulay. The tuuuel went in about 75ft, and! the Tor branch tunnel? about 10ft.
