April 27.— The meeting of tho Porfcobello Road Board, held on Saturday, was attended by Messrs Dickfcon (in the chair), Cro3», North, Ktllas. Maeanrirew, Hinkley, Milne, and Seaton. 'i he inspector's report was read and approved. Tenders wera opened for metal for Hooper's district road, and that of Mr George Foreyth, being the lowest, \v?fs accepted. Tho inspector was instructed to look out for a fauitable punt to_ carry about 30 or •49 tons, and report to next meeting ; also to invite tenders for specification* to draw out the plau of a punt to carry the above-named quantity, if not otherwise provided. Mr Moss requested the services of one man for two days antt he would provide another t» repair jea wall at Portobello jetty. — Granted. Mr Adams wrote that he was instructed by Alexander Clark, Hooper's Inlet, to ask the board to have the ditch filled in at his dwelling within 14 days, failing this the board to name a person to accept a writ of the Supreme Court to compel them to filkin the same.— Tee board named Mr'W. 1).
