LETTERS FROM LITTLE FOLKS.

Dear Dot, — We are having very wet weather here just now, and the roads are beginning to get muddy — just lika they always do in winter, you know. My brother Harry and I were out rabbitting to-day, and we got six rabbits between vs — Harry got four and I got two. I think his dog must be a better hunter than mine. Sometimes father lets un use our guns for rabbitting, and we like it immensely. We are anxious, too. for ihe time when wo can use them always. I am glad Easter is so near, because I am going to the Itiverton horse races, which are held on Easter Monday. I will tell you about them next time I write. My father gava me a pony for a Christmas present, and since then I have learned to ride. I call the pony Victor. Dear Dot, I have a baby sister ; will you please give me a. n*me for her. As it is our first sister we cannot decide on a name to suit everyone, so mamma snid she was sure you could give us a nice one — you have such a lot in store. — Yours truly, Mat. Harlky (aged 13 years). Weldon Houße, Orepuki, April 15. [Do not blame your dog this time, Mat., for your brother's might have had a better opportunity of getting the rabbits than your's had. See how they get on next time. I hope you enjoyed yourself at the races, and I have no doubt you did, as it was so fine a day. I think baby girls boru this year should be called Victoria, or if that is thought too formal a Dame Queenie might be substituted, or Regina, all of which would recall in after years the celebration of the Queen's record reign. Would you like nay of these three names for jour little sister, Mat. ?— Dot,] Dear Dot, — A few days ago we had a small bazaar for the Kindergarten Fund. We had two small tables for stalls, and several of our friends came and bought tbinga. We made 7c, which wa hops will be of use to the Kindergarten. This is a very short letter ; but ib is getting late, so we must stop writing. — Youra 1 1' aly, Snowdrop and Chocus. Invercargill, April 12. [Seven shillings for our fund ! Thaak you, Snowdrop and Crocue, a thousand times. It Lies enabled me to send another pound to Miss Kelsey, and we enter into tb.9 nineteenth pound. I should indeed have likod to hear all about jour little bazaar. Could you not write a iull description of it for the other little folka ?— Dot.] Dear Dot, — We are two schoolboys. We have a long way to go to school, so we ride. One has a bay horse, and the other a black one. We are not in the s&me class in school, but v/e are good friends for all that. Oar favourite frame i<i roundpr3, and when we ate playing we are jiltvays on the same side. We are not going to ask you for names for our pets, because you must havo no names left by this time. One of us has a pet lamb, which is very fond of sugar. Its name is Brutus. We have got our Easter holidays now. We have no more news ju:t now, bub if you like this letter we will write again. — Yours truly, April 20. Two Schoolboys. [Two Schoolboys' letter ia very interesting indeed, and I hope we shall hear from them often. It ia very pleasant for each of you to have such an agreeable chum, aud I hope your boy friendship will be carried on through life. It is very consider ite of you not to ask for names, but I think I could manage to find one each for the b*y and the black if they have none at present. — Dot ] Dear Dot, — We have a vegetable garden, und mother gives us 6tl for each of our marrows, so we thought that wa would send Is for the Kindergarten. — Yours truly, __. Daphne and Mavora Vyneh. Ovskararna, April 20. [Thank you very much, dears ; it is very good of you. Will yon not tell us sotaethiDg about the vegetables you grow, and how you keep the weeds down?— , Dot.]
