THE CYANIDE PATENT.
Sydney. April 13. ■ The Crown and most of the leading mining agents and companies have filed notices of opposition against an amendment of the cyanide patent. Wellington, April 13. In the cyanide patent cisc Mr Batton, counsel for the defence, said they would rely on the fact that cyanide potassium was U3ed long before this patent, and that in the patent cyanogen is the active principle by which the result is obtained ; whereas cyanogen by itself has no effect, and therefore could not furnish any hint a? to the proportions of cyanide potassium to bo used.
