The Isdy residents or Utukurti are evidently nofc satisfied with tho administrative powers of the school committee, and are taking steps to pines matters on (to thi'm) a more satisfactory basis. In this connection a leUe." was read ab the m«eting of the Board oi Education from Mrs Esther Trigg, of Ufcakura, iv whi<;h she proposed that the boird t-iiould permit of a committee of ladies being fci m >d iv tha districn, as men were a-vay so much hhafc they could not attend properly to tho duties appertaining to office. The communication created considerable amusement, and it was decided to inform the fair writer that if th? lad:e* of the district wera householders and eligible uuder the act the inat'er was entirely iv their own hands as regards the appointment of a coaamittco.
