April 19. — We have had pleasant weather during the Easter holidays. Picnic par:i«s have been fairly numerous, and all have bean enjoyable. A small party of young girls went up the Amalgamated lace and one of them unfortunately fell in, escaping with a good wetting and a fright. She was pluckily pulled out by one of the others. On Easter Monday there was a picnic up to the Pleasant Valley claim, and our friends, the Roman Oitholics, held their animal picnic in the Recreation Reserve, frames and races were freely indulged io, as were al«o the refreshments >o kindly provided by the ladies of the congregation. In the evening a most enjoyable social was held in the Athenioum Hall, the dances being interspersed with well-rendered soius.
