SOME SPLENDID YIELDS.

Some of the West Australian mines continue to return splendid yields, which no doubt have their share in counteracting the depression. Tho Western Argus of a recent data gives returns of yields from

several mines. The Great Boulder has pro duced 2 tons 16cwt 2qr 4-^lb of gold, or an average of 3oz Bdwt7grto the ton for 23,725 tons. The period during which this yield whs produced extended from April 30, 1895. to March, 1897. Lake View Consols between November, 1894-, aud Juue 3, 1895, produced 17,0600z of gold from 6H2 tons of stone, or an average of 2cz 15ilwb 13,:r to the ton. Lake View Consols Gold Mining, the new company's claim, produced 36,165dz of gold from 12,196 tons of gold between June 1896 aud March of this year. The average here was 2oz 16'lwfc per ton.
