When cultivated in water (as by the Chinese) the bulbs should be placed in a bowl filled with about an inch of fine clean gravel, upon which the bulbs are placed, say three to six bulbs iv a bowl, according to S'ze. Water liberally, but never let the water stand high up on the bowl, but only give enough to keep the roots thoroughly we-t.
