ANNUAL PRIZE FIRING.
The New Zealand R fle Association's annual meeting was opened by the mayoress this afternoon. There was «• fair attendance of the public, and the lady was almost within scoring the possible, the inner disc coming upon the line of the bull's eye in good direction. The Hon. Thomas Thompson, as Minister for Defence, in a short bub felicibous speech, congratulatrd the association on the position it held, and promised that every assistance would be given by the Government. Major Sommerville replied, and then the shooting commenced. Only the 200 yds range of the Nelson Match, not counting for the Belt, was completed, and the position was kneeling, sitting, or standing.
