WRECK OF THE NEPTUNE.
A Blenheim telegram to hand on Saturday afternoon says:— "The Neptune has become a Ifttal wreck during the night. The seaward Bide oj the vessel is gone, and the renmiuiug portion is ff^t breaking up, and the seas are breaking right o\ tr her. All the cargo was washed away, aud only a few cabes of samples have bsen recovered. The beach is strewn with wreckage for over a mile. Thrf accident is attributed to a breakdown in the dachinery while cros»iug the bur."
