MAUNGATUA.
i Fkhri'aky 8. — The weather still continues very I dry, ulthough we have had one or two showers lately, but not enough to have any effect on the ground. Harvesting is now in full operation, and the crops look fairly well in the level parts of the district, tbou/?h they appear shurt in some parts of the hilly ground. There is promise of a very fair harvest compared with some others if all j accounts be true. The turnip crop ie, however, j not up to what it hot been in former years, and there is a sc*rcity of grass in a good many places, owing no d übt to the drought.
