BENEVOLENT INSTITUTION TRUSTEES.
The weekly meeting of the Benevolent Institution Trustees, held on 'Wednesday, was attended by Messrs A. Solomon (chairman), Colin Allan, R. Wilson, R. Watson, and W. Swan. Accounts amounting to £182 6s 5d were passed for payment. The Secretary reported that the- cost of the institution for the month of December was £260 3s 2d. There were 256 inmates, who were maintained at an average cost of 4s 7£d per head per week. The Chaieman said that hs thought it desirable that the public should know that there was now a library at the institution. A librarian had been appointed, and the books and periodicals would be carefully looked after. The trustees would be very glad to receive donations of books', periodicals, &c, for the use of the inmates. ' • About 70 relief cases were dealt with.
