REVENUE RETURNS. Wellington, January 29.
I The telegraph revenue for the quarter ended December was £25,075, against £24,287 in the corresponding quarter of 1895. Auckland contributed £4928, Christchuroh £2814, Dunedin £3145, and Wellington £4427. The value of the Government telegram* sent, not included in the above, was £6215. The postal revenue was £54,719, as against £51,627 for the similar period last year. Auckland contributed £8492, Christchurch £6162, Dnncdin £5792, and Wellington £9017. The Savings Bank transactions for the same quarter 'show that the deposits were £687,647, as against £658,479, and the withdrawal* £624,973, as against £606,-739. There was an excess of deposits over withdrawals at all places except Christchuroh, Invercargill, New Plymouth, and Westport.
