The ordinary meeting, held on Tuesday, January 26, was attended by Mr A. Kinross (in the chair, iv the abaence of the chief commissioner), and Messrs A. Baldey, John M'lntyre, and D. King. A. CameroD, Joseph Rogers, and W. S. Trotter. — Received. The Undersecretary for Lands intimated that sections 202. t0 204, Oreti district, sections 59 and 66, Hodgkinson township, and section 52, block IV, Aparim* district, had been Tested in the Wallace County Council as gravel reserves. — Received. William M 'Gill applied to exchange perpetual lease of section 20, block IX, Wendon, for lease in perpetuity. — Held over for proclamation bringing land under the act of 1892 being issued. D. Straehan applied to purchase section 10, block XXXIX, Wallacetown extension, for cash. — Sections 9 and 10 to be put up to auotion | for cash at an upset of £2 an acre. G. Campbell wrote itating that he was unable to fulfil thft conditions in connection with flections 84, 89, and 90, block 111, Seaward Bush, because there was no road to the land. — ReCGIVGQ The action of the ranger in taking possession of section 625, Hokonui, formerly held by Johu M'Lennan, was approved. George Davis complained of persons grazing i stock on forfeited sections. — Received. A request from A. Shaw for extension of time in whioh to commence operations on sawmill area No. 342, Oteramika, block IV, was held over till tho chief commissioner was present. Benjamin Paddon applied for the grazing license over sections 18 and 21, block 111, Waikawa, ahaudoned by S. Paddon.— The latter to be called ou to show causa why his lease should not be forfeited. F. Auchinleck objected to the : proposed transfer of section 24, block 11, .Waikawa, from H. A. Parker to Jane Currie. — Held over. M'ss L. MD. Campbell requested thab personal residence be dispensed with on section 15, block I, Longwood. — Granted for four years. The following applications for titles were ; granted .—Michael Fi'zgoraldi sections 23 and i 24, block I, Longwood; Neil M'Bwan, section 10, block IV, O h ara; and James M'Lean, section 16, block VIII, C»mpbelltown Hundred. Michael O'Contiell applied to be reinstated on section 5, block XVI, Longwood, at reduced capital value on his p*yiog the back rent. — The ! land bad been forfeited and therefore must be submitted to competition. Several applications for tims in whioh to pay rent were received, and each case was dealtwith in accordance with its circumstances. Transfers were granted as follows : — Sections 7 and 8, block XXIV, East Gore, E. J. Faulks to D&vid Telfer; section 31, block XIV, Chafcton, R, Scobie to W. Day ; section 1, block XXIII, Inverca'gill Hundred, Jno. Patterson to Jane MKsLzia. A request from Alexander Lind for the transfer of section 4a, block VII, Merrivale, to Jane Coater was referred to the ranger for report. Michael Reid applied to exchange the license of block 11, Longwood, held under " The Mining Act 1886," for occupation lease under the M.D.L C Acb.— Granted. Ib was decided to insert a notice ' in theGazette of the forfeiture of run No. 492, and in cjunection with No. 119 ait was resolved to take similar action if the rent was not paid by next meeting of the board. On the recommendation of the chief commissioner^ it was decided to open to application run No. 517, Monowai add Lillburn districts. It was decided to recommend the Government to effer as pastoral land at 2d an acre for a term of 14 jeare, small grazing Runs 27' and 29, aud that the boundary fence of the former be previously revalued.. * On the. recommendation of thp chief commisaioner'it was decided to withdraw from the Land Guide sections 1 to 2, 5 to 8, 10 and 11, block IX, Manapouri township, until gazetted uuder the "Land Act 1892."
