Three rinks from the above clubs met on the Roslyn green on the 27th ult. After a most enjoyable game the home club were deolared the winners by the bare majority of one point. m The visitors were afterwards invited to a smoke concert held in Blacey's Hotel ; Mr C. F. Greenslade in the chair. " The Health of the Lawrence Club," proposed by Mr J. "VVcdderspoon (vioe-presirieut), was given with j musical honours, and responded toby Mr H. L. j Dartou (president). Souga wore contributed by Messrs Torrance, Don Mitchell, Hopkint, J. C. Browns (Mayor of Lawrence), and G. WedderApoon. A very enjoyablo evening was spent, "Au'.d lang sjno" winding up the night. Lawhencb v. Dunedin. A mat h between the Lawrence and Dunedin Clubs was played on the 28th ult. on the Cumberland street green, and resulted in . an cany victory for the local players. At the I seventh head the scores were : Dunedin 29, Lawrence 10. At the fourteenth head the Dunedin score stood at 53 against their opponent*' ! 23. At the conclusion of the match Mr James Hislop (president of the club) proposed the . health of the visitors, and in doing bo thanked ' thorn for their visit. Mr H. L. Darton, who > responded on behalf of the visitors, thanked the Dunedin players for tho way they had treated them and for the kind remarks of their president. The last match between the two olubs j was at Lawrence in 1890, when the Lawrence i team won by 3 point* ; but the Dunedin Club j hid now had their revenga, and he hoped his > club would win next time. Mr Darton then proposed the health of the Dunedin Club, and called for three oheerf, and both propositions > were responded to with great heartiness. ; Lawrence v. Kaitdna. j The match between the above clubs was ' played on tho Kaitun* green in the afternoon. On account of the shortness of the time at the disposal of the visitors poly 18 heads were played. The match resulted in a win for Kaituna by 11 points. Scores : —
The Lawrence bowlers returned home by the 4.20 train in the afternoon. ROSLYS JCNIOHS V. CALEDONIAN JUNIORS. The above match was played on the Roslyn green and resulted in an easy win for the hill club. At the end of the seventh head the teams were level, having each scored 15 points ; At the fourteenth bead lloslyn's score was 47 against Caledonian's 23 ; and at the twentyfirst head Roslyn had 73 against Caledonians ) 42 scores :—: — I
