A correspondent writes from Ophir :— ln a match Blacks v. Naseby, played at Ophir on the 22nd ult., some interesting play occurred. As' .rill ba seen, five of the Blacks team wore run out. Four of the players engaged hsve played in town teams — J. P. Malcolm and J. Aifcken, of Naseby, with the Danpclin, and D. HartneiA (Naseby) and E. Smith (Blacks) with ths Carisbrook B. In sbeir second innings Biacks ran up what is about a record for country cricket — a score of 310. The partnership between Maley and Smith yielded 108 for the fourth wicket, and that also should be about a record for the fourth wicket in country matches.
