Gold leaf will be a starter for the Middle Park Plate, but his prospects of success against Gold Medallist and Multiform seem very remote. The Marquis of Zetland will not be reserved for the Midsummer Handicap, for which he is as good a favourite as anything. The work at Riccarton yesterday was for the most part confined to steady pacing, several coming home fast over the last few furloDge.
The following additional scratchings have been announced by cable : — Newmarket Handicap — Valutas, Aurea, Steadfast, Wollomumbi, i Earl Roiebary, Sortie, Milkmaid, Don Juan, ! Hopscotch, Vivian, Bloodshot, Neerloolaß, Fitzroy. Australian Cvp — Don Juan, Gaulus, Viv.-ii W rl.oUs, Alone.
The anniversary regatta to-day was a great success. The Intercolonial 22ft Challenge Race was won by the Queensland boat The Bulletin. A cable message states that W. Haines, of Putney, beat Charles Stephenson, the ex-New 1 Zealander, in a soulling match on the Tvne ' coarse by two lengths*
