Magnincent weather wa« experienced at the races to-day, and there wa? & largo attendance. Tho public fell with a dull, sickening thud over Skipper's victory in the big event. Not unmindful of the Hawkesbnry meeting, they had never looked his way. There was a hostile demonstration on his return to the saddling paddock; and some feeling was also digplayed later on over "Coil's performance in the New Stakes. Vigilance, Survivor, and Birinji were thtt first to show past the et&nd in that order. There was little change till tho back of the course was reached, where Hopsc«toh moved forward and at the sheds took command, with Rackarock, Survivor, Skipper, and Nada after him. Response made a forward movement at the turn, and led the way into the straight, with Raokarock, Skipper, and True Blue in attendance.
