Football at Bald Hill Flat.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— With your kind permission I would reply to a statement made in the last issue of the Witness by your Alexandra correspondent when referring to a football match played at Bald. Hill Mat on the 20th inst. " Yout corrofpondent says "tbe Alexandra team gotsadly put in the shade, and no wonder, when a few picked men from the Roxburgh/team played -against them." No'vr this ia not correct, as there was not even one player from the Roxburgh team in the match referred to, Your correspondent also says this kind of thing should b& stopped. Well, perhaps so, should such be the case. Alexandra would sot shine so well i-i tb» f-Mball field &b they do under present arrant intuits, seeing their best players are from Duuediu. N-.iseby, and othor places. "With regard to your correspondent's final remark expressing the hope that he will see the tables turned when the Alexandra First meets the Limericks, I can assure him, on behalf of the Limericks, irr the event of his wish being gratified, that they will take their beating like mon.— l am, &c, Patrick F. Carroll, Hon. Sao. L. F.C. Bald Hi 11 Tl at, June 29.
