GRAIN REPORT.
Messrs William B. Beynolos and Co., Bond street, report for the week ending Ist July 1896 as follows :— Whtat : Market remains steady and unaltered, with 110 great amount of luuinets doing' We quote : Prime' velvet, up to 3s lid ; Tufcau, 3s 9d ; red sorts, 3s 5d to 3* 7d ; fowl feed, 2< 01 for broken to 3i 3d for whole. Oats aw decidedly dull, and we art; surprised demand is not greater. To sell to-day the following price 3 have to be accepted : Is 10d for prime Sutherlands, Is 9d to Is 9Jd for prime sparroy. bills, lsSJd for good sound feed, Is 8d for ordinary. But not many farmers seem disposed to sell at these prices, aud should the demand increase (and we see many reasons'why we. may hops-for this) market must firm again. Chaff is hard to sell at over £2 15s for very best, £2 12s fid good sound, and £2 5s to £2 10s for ordinary. Potatoes are somewhat easier, and prime northern can be quoted up to £2 17s 6d ; southern and ordinary qualities are hard to sell. Sheepskins are not very briskly competed for just now, owing to adverse reports from London ; but rabbitskins meet with a very good demand, and sell at full value.
